▲extra-curricular的拼写加不加连字符都可以的。不了解你查的是哪本词典，你多查几本词典就会发现加不加连字符的都有。如《牛津高阶学习词典英汉双解》第7版用的就是extra-curricular，而《朗文当代英语大词典》第4版用的则是没连字符的extracurricular。
▲从构词法上看，extra-为前缀，在此它表示“在……以外”“超出”（=outside或 beyond）；curricular意思是“课程的”，所以extra-curricular / extracurricular 的意思就是“课外的”。如：
